Michigan-Michigan State game

The battle for the Paul Bunyan trophy will take place in East Lansing tomorrow. It will showcase the 4-0 Michigan Wolverines led by freshman quarterback Tate Forcier in their first road game. The Michigan State Spartans, led Kirk Cousins and Keith Nicol at quarterback, although 1-3 have been quite resilient and have looked forward to this game as much as the Wolverines have.

With the bragging rights and state supremacy on the line, this game will take on great significance. This weekend will also mark the time when Golden Limousine will tailgate for a road game with shuttles up to East Lansing which we promised in our August newsletter.

The state of Michigan's college football championship will be on the line and you won't have to miss out because Golden will be there, as well as for the rest of the college football season.

Last Tigers Series of the Regular Season

With the split of the recent four game series against the Minnesota Twins, the magic number for the Detroit Tigers clinching the American League Central stands at two. This means two Tiger wins, a Tiger win and a Twin loss, and two Twin losses will clinch the division for Detroit at any point during the next three days.

The Tigers take on fellow division rivals the Chicago White Sox in the final three game series of the season with the division race coming to a climax. If the any of the above things happen for the Tigers this weekend their season will be extended into the playoffs.

Golden Limousine will once again be available for any ground transportation needs to get to the game. We offer charter buses and shuttles that will be available for the weekend and during the playoffs should the Tigers make it. If that happens you can count on Golden to be available too, as well as for anything you need ground transportation for in the Detroit area.

Creating a Washtenaw Avenue talent center

Working with Impact is another sign that Golden Limousine is a company that works to help the community and that through the chamber of commerce we are willing to do what it takes to improve it as well.

Tigers-Twins Four Game Series

The AL Central Division race all comes down to this weekend. The Detroit Tigers are holding on to a rail thin two game lead over the Minnesota Twins going into their last seven games including a four game series with the Twins starting today. Essentially the race comes down to this series as well as the three game series against the Chicago White Sox this weekend.

The first three games will all be at 7pm and the game on Thursday will be at 1pm. In order to wrap up the division they will need to win at least three games. The stands at Comerica Park will be full, the whole state of Michigan will be paying attention and Golden Limousine wants you to be there.

Our sporting event shuttles get you too and from the game with time to spare and our staff will be courteous and receptive to you and your party. As a local company we sympathize with our local teams and want you to be able to be there for them for the most important stretch of the season.

Big Ten Opener Shuttles

The Michigan Wolverines are 3-0 going into their conference opener this Saturday against Indiana at noon and Golden Limousine is going to be able to shuttle you to and from the game again this week. Just like during the first two weeks of the season we will be having shuttles from the parking lot at Solo Aviation at the Ann Arbor airport. For those who want to go to the game at Michigan Stadium but don't want to worry about the hassle of parking in Ann Arbor, this is a golden opportunity to avoid the normal hassle of trying to park in the city. There will be a tailgating starting at 9am and the shuttles will start leaving for the stadium at 10am, two hours before the game starts. This will give our customers free parking and cheap transportation to the game with plenty of time to take in all aspects of the game day experience.

E-Golden Concierge

We are currently revamping our E-Golden Concierge page at the Golden Limousine website, adding more great activities to do here in Detroit. Including Dining in the D, Romance Packages and many more golden opportunities to enjoy yourself.

Here at Golden the reason why we are focusing our energy on things like this is because we believe that by showing people a good time in the Detroit area we can showcase the area in as positive light as possible. This is done by our staff of trained professional drivers who get people on time and in style to wherever they are going. But the way that they are enabled to do that is by advertising ourselves and local businesses that we service by placing them on our site.

In doing these things we are helping local businesses and doing our part to help revitalize the Detroit area. In this economy we are doing our part as a business to help not just ourselves, but others in an area that is trying to comeback from the recent recession.

Above everything else we are revamping the E-Golden Concierge site to remind people that wherever you go you're golden.

Tailgating with Golden

With the college football season now in full swing and the NFL just getting started this past week, many fans will be enjoying the experience of football season by engaging in it the fullest way by tailgating. The game day experience just isn't complete for the fans that are there without the cold beverage in their hands and meat on the grill.

Golden Limousine is already shuttling people from tailgates at the Ann Arbor airport to the Michigan football games and we are proud to announce that soon we will be doing tailgates for any Lions fans who charter one of our shuttle buses to the games at Ford Field starting with this upcoming Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings.

We will be holding tailgates wherever we will be parking before the game begins at 1pm, and we will give the fans plenty of time to enjoy their tailgates before entering the stadium. Call us at 1-800-300-5151 for more details, which will become available as the week continues.

There will be changes made to our schedule for the Airport tailgate due to the earlier game time (noon). This week the tailgate will start at 9am and the shuttles will begin at 10.

Congratulations to Kim Peoples

Kim Peoples was announced as the winner of the Dave Ramsey Total Money Makeover which we participated in through the Lucy Ann Lance show. She won a Limo Ride with friends as a part of the promotion and we are honored to be a part of the prize.

Hockey Fest

If you can wait for the next Detroit Red Wings season, this should help alleviate the waiting pains. HockeyFest 2009 is at Joe Louis Arena today and tomorrow from 3-10pm today and from 10am to 10pm tomorrow.

There will be autographs, photo ops, Q and A with the current players and many other fun things to do at the Joe. Any Red Wings fan who wants to get a chance to know the team and have some fun while doing it should attend this event. After coming so close to winning the Stanley Cup last season the Red Wings will surely make things interesting.

Should you be interested in chartering a group trip to a game this year, Golden Limousine will be able to get you to and from the Joe. We'll get you on time and in style for a golden opportunity to watch one of the best teams playing the greatest game on ice.

Tigers-Rays series

Coming off of their first road series win in over two months the Tigers are rolling into a series with the defending American League champions hoping to pull off what the Tampa Bay Rays were able to do and come back from a disappointing season last year and get to the World Series. The Tigers start a four game series today against the Rays hoping to come out of it with a bigger lead in the central division than the four game lead that they currently have on the White Sox.

With the season about to go into its last month and the Tigers still holding onto a slim lead every series is going to become crucial in the ongoing battle for the Central Division. Once again this series will be another chance for the Tigers to prove that they are for real in the pennant race.

With all of the exciting action going on it would be a perfect opportunity to check out what kind of deals Golden Limousine has to offer for transportation to offer. Don't miss out on the exciting pennant race that is shaping up right now.

Corrections

About the most recent post I put up on Monday, as it turns out I did not have all of the information about this correct. Somebody from the Science Center emailed me about this and wanted me to clear it up.

I saw your blog about the Star Trek Wedding. The exhibit and movie close on 9/13/09, just FYI. We had a contest at the opening of the exhibit and the winners were promised a wedding reception here. It actually turned out very nice. The couple was married at another location and simply had a “mock” ceremony here.

So there you have it. The exhibit runs through Sunday September 13 and if you would like to check out our package on this check out our Concierge site for a deal.

Star Trek Science Center Wedding.

There has been a lot of fuss done about unique weddings lately. Seeing that we are a company whose business frequently involves them we keep our eye out for things like this. We've also been doing shuttle service to the Science Center because of the Star Trek exhibition that started this past Friday.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the two things came together last Saturday. A Star Trek lovers dream, the wedding and reception not only took place in the Science Center but they had a variety of other like themed elements to the wedding, such as a minister who was dressed as a crew member on the Enterprise, and wine named after Jean Luc-Picard.

Golden Limousine does many weddings, and works shuttle services to a variety of attractions like the Science Center and the DIA where weddings can be held. These weddings can sometimes take on a unique character of their own, and we encourage people to explore various ideas and to tell people about how unique your wedding was as well as how good the people of Golden helped you that day with all of the transportation needs.

Signature Chefs Auction

Another community event Golden International is proud to sponsor, the Signature Chefs Auction is one of the biggest events done by the March of Dimes. The auction takes place at the Sheraton Hotel in Ann Arbor on November 2. It will feature a silent auction at 5:30 in the afternoon and a live auction at 7:45 at night.

This year the auction will go to support the March of Dimes primary cause this year, preventing premature birth and saving the lives of prematurely born babies. Each year the March of Dimes takes on a new cause to champion. This year it hopes to extend the lives of those who were unfortunate to have been born prior to term and prevent such further tragedies from occurring again.

A brief description of what to expect from the auction:

In one ballroom, the finest chefs from greater Ann Arbor gather to prepare their signature dishes placed in beautiful displays that are appealing to both the eye and the appetite. Fine wines and drinks are available to enhance the experience of browsing among the chef’s offerings.

In another ballroom, an assortment of interesting and unique items is featured for the silent auction. Writing your auction number below the item is all you have to do to bid. The items range from remote control toys and jewelry to exquisite artwork and travel items. All the items are beautifully displayed for the guests to see and touch.

Finally in the largest ballroom guests gather for the live auction. Each of the chefs offer unique personalized dining experiences for groups of 2-12 for live bidding. There are also travel packages and special items that are available in the live auction. The room builds with excitement as the packages are described and the bidding begins. Midway the bidding pauses as a family touched by the March of Dimes describes their personal story. The mission moment reminds all the guests the real purpose of the evening. There is an opportunity for all to donate directly at that time.

Sphinx Competition

One of the times where we get a chance to talk about one of the things that we offer and at the same time promote something positive happening in the community. The Sphinx Competition is one of the premier events promoting classical music education with the minorities. This year's competition involved string musicians from Black and Latino backgrounds in junior and senior high school and took place at the Max M. Fisher Music Center. They competed and the winners (laureates) will play a concert at Carnegie Hall.

This has been founded by Michigan Alum Aaron Dworkin, a truly remarkable person with an equally remarkable cause.

A graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy and the University of Michigan (B.B. and M.M), Aaron Dworkin founded the not-for-profit Sphinx Organization in 1996 to build diversity in classical music. He also wanted to help overcome the cultural stereotype of classical music, and to encourage the participation of Blacks and Latinos in the field. Dworkin and the organization have received many honors and accolades, including a MacArthur Foundation "Genius" Grant.

In the 13 year history of the organization, Sphinx has made the following impact:

* More than 65,000 students reached in 175 schools nationwide
* More than 2 million individuals reached on an annual basis through national broadcasts on PBS and National Public Radio
* More than $190,000 in quality instruments provided to young minority musicians
* More than $1,620,000 in prizes and scholarships administered to Sphinx Competition Semi-Finalists
* More than 190 Laureate performances with Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Baltimore, Cleveland, and St. Louis Symphonies reaching over 180,000 in audiences.

We have provided service to this event, and we also hope that should you be in New York in early October you should contact us or one of our affiliate companies across the country. Don't pass up this golden opportunity to see something special.

Reminder on upcoming events

With all that's been going on lately (especially with the Tigers division race) it's time that we remind ourselves of things that we had planned out earlier. For those of us who make plans in advance we definitely need some reminding.

For those of you who wanted to check out the Star Trek exhibition at the Science Center, it's on August 21 next Friday and if you want to check out the Science Center at some point before then you can ask about our deals on that as well.

Also AC/DC will be at the Palace this upcoming Sunday, August 16, and Peter Frampton will be at the Meadow Brook Music Festival the following week on August 22, which you can read about on our new revamped website.

We blogged about these deals well in advance of the events taking place now with them being much closer to happening it becomes necessary for us to remind the public of them.

Ford Field Tour + Tigers this week + Lions next week...oh my

Another big home series for the Detroit Tigers against a division rival means that people will be flocking to downtown Detroit for the weekend. With the drama of the Major League Baseball season going on at Comerica Park tonight and Saturday night a good way to do a pregame would be to take a look at the place next door.

With the AL Central Division race heading into the dog days of summer with the Tigers currently in the lead, there's never been a better time to look into our Sensational Detroit package. There's a lot going on, and not just sports. Whatever it is in Detroit that you're looking to do, we can get you there, and if you're just there for the series we'll get you there too.

Speaking about the place next door, the Lions first preseason game will be next Saturday August 16 at Ford Field against the Atlanta Falcons. Fans will not only be looking forward to getting over the winless season last year, but also to get their first look at the first pick in the draft Quarterback Matthew Stafford. You can have access to all these events through Golden with our sports concierge service. With everything going on this weekend you'd me hard pressed not to miss a golden opportunity like this.

New and improved website upcoming

We at Golden Limousine have been working extra hard to revamp our website. Hopefully we will go from this to something that looks like this.

We hope to continue to have the support we have received over the years, at the same time we hope to attract new customers with our revamped website. This website is going to be different from most others, we're going to have detailed articles about all of our packages, similar to the ones that you see on the blog, and the ability to purchase a package and start an account with Golden.

Shortly after our website goes live we will start up our newsletter again. We already have most of the articles written and we hope to include a message from our esteemed President Sean Duval. I don't want to give too many of the details away but we hope to have some things that no other company will be doing via the Internet, and we hope to have it done by the beginning of next week at the very least.

Treasures For The World

Home to one of the world's premier encyclopedic collections, the Detroit Institute of Arts is located in the heart of the City's Cultural Center. The DIA's enormous collection includes masterworks of van Gogh, Picasso, Rodin, Rembrandt, Fra Angelico, Botticelli, and hundreds more of the greatest artists of all time.

The mission of the DIA is to create "experiences that help each visitor find personal meaning in art." The galleries group and present works in a novel way, featuring interactive exhibits and informational displays to create a most memorable experience for the visitor.

The image above is a detail from "Detroit Industry" by Diego Rivera. Featured in the DIA's center court, the muralist considered the stunning fresco to be his most successful installation. The work was commissioned by auto magnate Edsel Ford and then-DIA director William Valentiner in 1933.

The DIA itself is a wonderful example of modern architecture. The collection is housed in a magnificent Beaux Arts building designed by Paul Cret in 1927. Tigers-White Sox series

The race for the AL Central Division title is going down the stretch and making the turn as the Detroit Tigers and the Chicago White Sox are currently deadlocked going into this weekend's four game in three day series. The White Sox come in with lots of momentum coming off of a perfect game thrown by Mark Buehrle yesterday. The Tigers have won one game since coming off the All-Star break but will have their aces Justin Verlander and Edwin Jackson both available to start during the series in hopes that they will be able to come up with much needed victories.
With that in mind the Tigers are also hoping that their recently dormant bats will reawaken, as they have averaged a mere two runs per game since the break, and while their starting rotation has been stellar as of late they have been lacking in run support. Hopefully for them they will be able to get that because against the red hot White Sox runs will be precious and they'll need all that they can get.

This will be the last time the Tigers play the White Sox before playing them and the Minnesota Twins in their last ten games, playing the Sox six times during that time period with a home and home split. At this point every game is a must win as the Tigers head into the dog days of summer.

If you're looking to see this series and hear the roar of the Tigers at Comerica Park, check out Golden Limousine's sports packages. We can get you to the game and get you safe at home, we've got transportation options open to any budget and are a viable option should you need to call in some relief.

Star Trek Exhibition at the Detroit Science Center.

Not only is the Star Trek movie showing at the Imax theatre at the Detroit Science Center but there will be an entire Star Trek dedicated exhibit there on August 21. With such attractions like Captain Picard's ready room, Captain Kirk's chair from the bridge of the USS Enterprise, and interactive displays galore, this should prove to be a fun time for lifelong trekkies and those just merely familiar with the show.

There are also lots of models of the ships used on the TV shows, in addition to tours of some of the sets themselves. If you're interested in getting to this final frontier in style with your group schedule a shuttle with Golden Limousine for that day. We'll get you there at warp speed from where ever you need to be picked up. Schedule your group outing for this event by calling us at (800) 300-5151.

Detroit Science Center Tour

Today's the 40th Anniversary of Apollo 11's moon landing. Millions of people watched as Neil Armstrong made the "Giant leap for mankind," and every week millions would watch Captain Kirk and co.'s journey through the "final frontier" on Star Trek. It was a time in which America seemed to be obsessed with the idea of space travel.

Even though times have changed there has been a revived interest in space as well as the shows of yester-year with the new Star Trek movie, which is currently showing at the Imax Dome in the Detroit Science Center where you can also find a planetarium and other astronomy related activities. Located in Detroit's Cultural Center behind the Detroit Institute of Arts the Science Center has a full range of science related activities that stimulate the mind in a fun and intellectual way that both children and adults can appreciate.

Golden Limousine is proud to announce that we will be working with the Detroit Science Center in providing charter trips to it as part of our involvement with our Sensational Detroit tours. We will be providing charter bus transportation to the Science Center to any group parties who wish to seek it. For those who want to get a glimpse of the "final frontier," Golden Limousine will do giant leaps for everybody involved including getting there, getting back, and everything in between. Golden opportunities await for those who want them.

Shoes and the Art Fair

Seeing that we are sponsoring the Ann Arbor Art Fair right now I came across a fascinating article in the Free Press today, which seems to sum up the experience for everybody who goes to it. Especially the first four sentences which illustrate the festival experience in a general way.

Planning to go to the Ann Arbor Art Fairs this weekend?

Art is NOT the first thing you should think of.

Shoes are.

There's so much cool, beautiful, fascinating and fun stuff to see at the 50th annual Ann Arbor Art Fairs that you need time and good shoes to take it all in.

Having been to the festival and a few similar others, this quote really hits it on the nail. Festivals are fun but they take up a lot of space that you can't drive around in, the solution? You walk. For some people that can be fairly difficult, but if one appreciates culture it's probably best to take it all in as part of the experience.

Of course if you don't want to walk from your parking spot you can always take the shuttle if you want.

Free Limo Drive/Dinner for two drawing

At the Golden Limousine booth during the Townie Party this past Monday we had people submit names for a drawing for a romantic dinner for two at Hobbes Restaurant with a complimentary limo ride thrown in by us. The results should be in shortly just as soon as our President Sean Duval announces it. Hopefully we'll have photos from the Party soon as well.

Art Fair Shuttle

With the Ann Arbor Art Fair in town there can be a lot of congestion out on the road and it can be an incredible hassle to find a parking space. So much so that in the past that many have stayed away from the festival missing out on the chaotic fun of the festival.

Fortunately nobody needs to worry about that anymore.

Golden Limousine will be running a shuttle from Skyline High School (directions to the Art Fair from 9:45 AM till 7 PM. The shuttles run every 15 minutes because that's the approximated driving distance between the two points. The Art Fair runs from today through Saturday and is one of the biggest Art Festivals in the United States.

With the way the economy has been recently, this event is crucial for many of the artists who are selling their work to be there, so if you appreciate art and the artists who create it, you should be there to support them and their creativity.

Townie Party Tonight

It's a beautiful day for a festival and if the weather's like it is today the Art Fair should be even better. Tonight however is host to the annual Townie Party where there will be bands and booths, including ours, from 5 pm to 9:30 pm. Lots of stuff to check out but while you're there be sure to see what's going on at our booth and talk to the people there. Ask about Golden Limousine and remember to speak loudly because it's gonna be rockin'. Original post here.

There's going to be helium balloons, information and a bus out there for whoever wants to take a look at what we have to offer. Please Please Please, check it out.

Motown Tour

In the aftermath of Michael Jackson's death a lot of people have been reconnecting with his timeless music, especially his hits with the Jackson 5 in the 1970s and as a solo artist in the 80s. A good place to relive some memories of the great entertainer would be the Motown Museum on West Grand Boulevard in Detroit. The old Hitsville USA house which once belonged to Motown Records owner Berry Gordy was one of the sites where the Jackson 5 got their start after Joe Jackson took them from their home in Gary, Indiana to the Motor City for an audition.

Some (albeit not all) of the Jacksons early hits were at least recorded there in 1970-72 including songs like "ABC" and "I Want You Back." By this time you will undoubtedly get a chance to learn more about the Jacksons as well as the other Motown artists as well as the remarkable story of their discovery by an obscure Motown band called The Vancouvers. You can also get to understand the unique and innovative approach to hit making that Gordy and co. developed during the 14 years that they were there from 1959 to 1972.

Golden Limousine is proud to be able to provide a tour of the Hitsville museum as part of their tours of Detroit. In addition to the sports town reputation and the factories of the industrial age, the history of music in the city also provides a great deal of pride as well as a great tourist attraction for anyone who is interested. If you are interested in jogging some of those memories of the great days of Motown click here to check it out.

Brandon Inge makes the All Star team

For the first time in his tumultuous ten year career with the Detroit Tigers Third Baseman Brandon Inge is going to the All Star game in St. Louis on Tuesday July 14. One of the biggest reasons why Inge is going, aside from the fact that he is on pace to hit at least 30 home runs and is one of the best defensive third basemen in baseball, is because he had the benefit of one of the best marketing campaigns I've ever seen for a professional athlete.

It was very simple, the Tigers simple partnered up with the Philadelphia Philles, who were trying to get Shane Victorino in on the last ballot, to create the "Bran Torino" campaign, an obvious pun on the most recent and allegedly last Clint Eastwood film "Grand Torino." The movie was set and partially filmed in Detroit, giving the area some much needed screen time in the current economic state. Since the movie was nationally popular the Philly fans were able to get with the program and with no other teams partnering up to promote their stars, it was inevitable that the two would win.

Things like this goes to show the power of cooperation in order to achieve a common goal. In this case it shows how to manipulate popular culture into something catchy by working together. A lot of people have criticized both players, saying that they don't deserve to get to the All-Star game and maybe they weren't the best players out there. But by using something that fans knew about both teams were able to motivate the fans to get their players into the All-Star game on the last ballot.

You can see Inge and his three All-Star teammates, Justin Verlander, Edwin Jackson, and Curtis Granderson, at Comerica Park all summer long, currently the team is in first place and hopes to stay that way. If you want to get to the roar of the Tigers with time to catch batting practice talk to Golden Limousine who will give the extra effort to get you all the way home as well, no matter where home is.

Art Fair Townie Party

The Ann Arbor Art Fair starts on Wednesday July 15, and as a business in town we at Golden Limousine are proud to sponsor it. Although the fair has had an unfair reputation for holding up traffic in the area, it is also one of the most interesting things that happens in this town over what is normally a quiet summer with most of the students gone from the University of Michigan. It gives a sense of excitement to what normally can be a fairly dull summer in town. To celebrate and give back to the town that puts on this affair, they are throwing a Townie Party to show their appreciation for the city two days before the fair starts on Monday July 13.

(If you scroll down in the link you'll see a familiar logo amongst the sponsors.)

It will be a festive atmosphere for certain and there will be three bands playing the whole night (not at the same time) which should make for a fun and funky time for everybody down there. And for those who either want to get to the fair or the Townie Party in style you can always count on Golden to be there for you.

Seeing that I just talked about the Palace....Pistons News

Anybody who's been following Detroit sports knows about the Pistons coaching search this last week and change. After the firing of Michael Curry, who in his first season, had the unfortunate distinction of leading the team to their first losing season since 2001 in which the 'Stones got swept by Cleveland in the first round of the playoffs.

Apparently, Joe Dumars has found a new guy for the job in John Kuester an assistant for the Cleveland Cavaliers who once served as an assistant for Larry Brown on the 2004 NBA Championship team. After former Dallas Maverick coach Avery Johnson was perceived as the front runner in the search because of his experience, somehow negotiations between Dumars and him did not pan out. Fortunately for the Pistons they were able to find someone else pretty quickly and the final details of his contract are being hammered out as we speak.

If there's anything we have learned in the NBA offseason about the Detroit Pistons it's that Joe Dumars is a businessman not just another former player as a General Manager. He's willing to make tough decisions in order to get the most production out of the team. He doesn't always make the most popular decisions, but from where I'm sitting as a fan of the team, he's taken them a lot farther from where they were when he started.

Hopefully this will mean the beginning of a new and exciting run for the Pistons and anybody from the Motor City who wants to travel to the Palace like a King for a game is welcome to contact Golden Limousine about it.

New Packages Upcoming.

Pretty soon we should have some exciting concert packages on the site at venues like Comerica Park and the Palace of Auburn Hills. Kid Rock and Lynard Skynard will be at the former on July 17, and Beyonce will be appearing at the latter the next day. But the real treat for all you classic rock fans should be AC/DC at the Palace on Saturday August 16. Hopefully we'll be able to get you a link to this so you can get on the "Highway to Hell" in style with access to the Club 53 Lounge in the Palace for $147. Yes, that's the right "dirt cheap" price. "Thunderstruck" already? Then call (888)-968-9024 for details on this and any other upcoming Palace deal.

For those who want this deal, we salute you.

New University of Michigan deal

Golden Limousine now has a new deal with the hometown University of Michigan for the rest of the summer, showing that we care about the pride and joy of our state. Hopefully we may be able to come up with a new deal in the fall that will able us to continue to provide services in this way. Hopefully we will also be able to continue to provide services for the Athletic Department as we have done in the past, maybe even do discounts like this.

Press Release:

ANN ARBOR, Mich., July 7, 2009 – Golden Limousine International announces a new program that makes it easier and more affordable for educators and researchers to travel to and from the University of Michigan. Starting today, the Ann Arbor based company will offer all university departments, faculty, staff and visitors a 10-percent roll-back in pricing for ground transportation services. The program will remain in effect through Sept. 7.

“The University of Michigan is playing a central and vital role in shaping the future of our state and our society,” Sean Duval, president of Golden Limousine International, said. “With this new program, we intend to actively support the university in its vital role in moving our state and nation forward by making it easier for them to bring people together.”

The new service is intended to help University of Michigan faculty, staff and visitors attend conferences, meetings and lectures, on the Ann Arbor, Dearborn or Flint campuses. With one phone call, the staff of Golden Limousine International will arrange, direct and perform all of the logistical requirements in order to travel from and to local airports to the university’s campuses and facilities, as well as to and from hotels and restaurants. The program also is available for University of Michigan travelers to other cities across the nation and around the world.

With the Art Fair coming to Ann Arbor next week and the academic conferences happening year round we hope to maintain the support of the University of Michigan, as we have supported it for many years.

The Story of Golden Limousine.

Taking the Best Route

Sean and Donna Duval set their own course. When the Michigan economy slowed in 1992, the couple took matters into their own hands and founded Golden Limousine International. The company’s mission: to provide top-quality ground transportation services.

To make it so, the Duvals invested their talents and time, making it through the economic downturn and prospering. At all times, Golden Limousine has worked to provide “the best to the best,” serving statesmen, business leaders, celebrities and all who require excellence.

Golden Limousine has earned a record of distinction in terms of security, reliability and comfort. Among the distinguished people Golden Limousine has served are former Secretary of State Colin Powell and comedian and author Bill Cosby. GLI also has served Fortune 500 corporations and thousands of private parties and individuals.

Perhaps there’s a sense of déjà vu at the company’s Ann Arbor headquarters, where the Duvals have sighted a new, clear vision of opportunity. The image they see shows that while times may change, the need for top-quality service does not.

Golden Limousine International today is expanding its services to provide top quality experiences in Michigan. Through its E-Golden Concierge services, the Duvals are making it easy to experience the finest events in culture and entertainment, from the Red Bull Air Races to the latest performance of Leonard Slatkin and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
